TERMITES & WOOD DESTROYING ORGANISMS
We are Sentricon System Certified – the same system that protects the White House, Smithsonian and 160 landmarks across the US!
Termites cause several billion dollars of damage each year to structures in the United States alone. It is important to protect your house and investment with proper planning and professional care when necessary. Our professionals can give you several options that will be tailored made to suit your specific needs. With all of our termite work we offer one year contracts with options for renewal to protect you and your investments well into the future.
Annual Sentricon System
The Sentricon System detects and stops subterranean termites from attacking homes by eliminating entire termite colonies — not just individual termites. The product’s design allows termite infestations to be eliminated without disturbing expensive landscaping or drilling holes into a home’s floors, foundation, patios or sidewalks.
The Sentricon System is the only termite control product ever to receive the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The award recognizes technical innovation that incorporates the principles of green chemistry into design, manufacture and use. In 2010, the Sentricon System introduced the innovative Always Active™ technology, which begins the termite colony elimination process without delay and offers continuous property protection from termites.
When the situation demands, we also offer spot or full structure chemical treatment to eliminate any termites in the target building(s) or complex. This option is often needed when the termites are in hard to reach areas under concrete slabs, in crawlspaces and basements. Our professionals will provide a chemical barrier around the exterior perimeter to prevent termites from reaching your home. This option usually won’t kill off the queen termite like our baiting method with Sentricon will.
Carpenter ants are one of the largest ants in our area, easily recognizable by their large size and features. They like to nest in wood by creating cavities in trees and structures with wood used in their construction. They don’t eat wood like termites or powder post beetles but carve out spaces in the wood with their large mandibles to provide room for their nest. It is important to locate a carpenters ants nest to eliminate them fully, and once located its relatively easy to kill the infestation.
However if we can’t locate the nest we have other methods, by using bait we can fool the workers to bring back the bait to their queen and kill the colony that way. Despite the method used we guarantee our work and will do as many treatments as necessary until full eliminate the infestation.
Carpenter Bees are large flying insects the bore round holes in wood, usually several feet off the ground, for their nests. They can be very territorial, and will harass people and animals that come into the vicinity of their nest. Large numbers can cause deterioration in structural integrity of the wood that they bore into to create their nests and should be addressed before that can happen.
We can safely treat your entire property for carpenter bees using various methods in usually one treatment. We can also provide a residual treatment that will help protect the structure from re-infestation in the future.
Powderpost beetles bore smalls circular holes in wood and will then kick out a powdery substance out of these holes as their larva digest the wood. They can be dormant for long periods of time, months and even years and can survive in colder climates. Given enough time they will cause significant damage to a structure if not treated properly. Detection can be difficult since without a full inspection of all crawlspaces and basements. All affected wood needs to be treated to eliminate the threat they pose and can be difficult if not done properly with the right materials.
Wood rot is a fungus that digests damp, moist wood causing it to deteriorate and lose its strength. Removing the moisture from the wood is key to proper elimination of wood rot. Once the moisture problem is addressed and mitigated or eliminated we can treat the wood to kill off and prevent any further wood rot.
